SuzieQK Posted April 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Need to decide on the Fantasy or Fascination for the 3 night Bahamas cruise. Which ship would you take and why? Thanks! celbercrz333 Posted April 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Suzie, My mom did Fantasy in 1996. We are going on Fascination this Fall from Miami to Nassau. I would guess it depends on what you want to see. My mom said they went out of Cape Canaveral and did both Nassau and Freeport. Are you interested in doing both? We are doing just Nassau for 24 hours. I hear that the ships are "sister ships" and have identical layouts. She said they also did a small island that "had nothing on it" and was a waste of time, but they didn't know that ahead of time. I feel like 24 hours in one place is better than breaking up your time in several places. --Joanne Celebrity Zenith 10/2003 coming: Fall 2004 Fascination
SuzieQK Posted April 25, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 25, 2004 I'm taking my college-aged daughter just for a short girls break. We have always cruised the bigger newer ships, just afraid that I will be dissappointed. Not planning to do much at any of the ports, they dont really concern me. Just worried about the wear and tear of each of the ships. Thanks! Cruising89143 Posted April 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Thanks Suzie. From everything that I have seen and read, the Navigator is one great ship. I am also looking forward to trying RCI for a seven day cruise. cruisemates2 Posted April 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2004 Just returned from the Fantasy today and loved it. They have remodeled it recently and it looks great. The promanade deck, atrium and cabins look great. Promanade deck looks very elegant. Our only complaint was food on lido deck, mainly breakfast. We cruised on the Fascination several years ago and did not like it at all, but, it may be better now, if they have made improvements to it. We enjoy cruising and always have a great time, so, it's just a matter of what you make of it. The ships are sister ships and have the same layout. So, no matter which you do, go with an open mind, relax and enjoy yourself. One other point that may or may not matter to you. Pt Canaveral is much easier to get to and easier to get around in. Have a great cruise!
