rjtncruiser Posted February 5, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2020 We have a group of 7, 3 seniors with minimal mobility issues, arriving in Miami at 8am for an afternoon cruise departure. We are trying to decide the best plan of waiting. Is it better to grab a bite in the Miami airport or pay for a minimum 3 hour car service to stop along the way? Or third option would be to pack snacks to have at the cruise terminal and be early to embark. Thoughts?
JohninDC Posted February 5, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2020 Landing at at 8:00 usually means off the plane and with luggage at bag claim by about 8:30-45. I would head to the hotel inside the MIA airport, cleverly called the Miami Airport Hotel. Tip them to watch your bags while you grab breakfast and maybe a mimosa or two. About 10:00-30 or so you can grab a couple of taxis ($28+tip, flat rate fare, ignore the meter; same fare for SUV & minivan cabs) or an UberX (about $20) and an UberXL (about $28) for the 15+ minute ride from MIA to POM. Check in for your ship should be started by the time you arrive, and boarding for most ships starts at about 11:
