Sure do-- tons of them. I been waiting forever for someone-- anyone to tell me how it was. We leave next week.

the biggie one-- with rumors floating the boards-- I know John Heald was supposed to come aboard and you had the last of the Cruise director before the new one took over this week.

Any news from him on that?

Yes, brent is gone and John started last Saturday. Everything was really good. We skipped Costa maya on Thursday though, and just had a day at sea. very disappointed, had lots of shopping left to do and wanted to see the ruins.

all in all, we had a good time.

I, too was disappointed when I was watching the web cam-- did they try to dock in Costa Maya?? Coz the speed of the ship was very slow during that time.

We too are booked for the Chaccoban ruins.. BUt I also see we are in Costa Maya with 4 other ships. I didnt think this port could hold that many people.

No, we never really even saw land, it was way out in the horizon. all in all, we had a good time, spent the "trinket" money in the casino!

have a great time.

oh, there was on thing i wanted to tell you. there was an aft wrap balcony available right before sailing. i called and was told by a supervisor, i can have it, the day of sailing if it was not sold.

My SO did not want to move our room.. so that is something i did not know. i spoke to a supervisor, she put the note in my screen. wish i had called to take her up on it. great room and balcony, we went to peak. it sailed un used!!

So how did you come upon knowing that there was a wrap aft balcony available and who is SO and why didn't you take it? Would there have been a upcharge?

How can I check the same for my upcoming cruise.

Sometimes people cancel at the last minute and cabins will come available. If you go to the Carnival web site and click on funships.. click on your ship then scroll to the bottom and make believe you are booking a cruise-- to see whats available for your cruise.

MH-- would you have had to pay the difference on the two cabins?? If so what was it?

Did you get any money back for the missed Port?

(SO is a Significant Other

...but stayed - happily with our BL GTY - they wanted $300/pp more for one though, and I was told that even if they could hook us up on the ship, we would have to pay - which kind of sucks - people go from 1A to Cat 12 all the time:rolleyes:

They let us know about 45 min before we were suppose to dock. I thought as well as many others that it was not bad weather conditions, but I am not the expert. It came from the Mexican Port authorities. Was very disappointed as we had shore excursions for horseback riding. Overall the cruise was just okay.Food was poor quality at buffets and dining rooms. This was my 4th Carnival and probably will go back to NCL or RCCL.

I booked on the Liberty in November - hope we can get to Mexico, I'd love to see the ruins! Did you have a balcony room? I would have grabbed the suite. We just got off of the Legend (we sailed on 12/27/05) and my father had an aft suite, was wonderful! Plenty of room, but i must say you did feel the ship rocking!

The water was to rough to dock in Costa Maya. They did refund us $25 per person for port charges I assume. I went down to the lower decks to get a close look at the water. We were getting some large swells. We stayed on the Spa deck so we could feel it pretty good.

Sas- -having a formal night on a night we have to pack up is not what I would want. Your stuff has to be packed and out the door before midnight.

both formal nights are on prt days--Monday you will be back on the ship by 2:30 withplenty of time to relax before getting ready for dinner.

Thursday is a formal optional..and have read that half do formal and half do casual.

We cruise on Sunday--- I will be dining formal both nights.

Duane is the singer in the piano bar, not riveting, but he was very nice.

Crew reported the swells were 20-25 feet on Thursday, definitely not nice waters, lol. The ship did rock a bit (we had dinner in the Silver dining room and it does rock too), but I felt worse on the Elation with 13-15 foot swells. I had a Verandah aft balcony, could hear a little noise from above, but sleep with earplugs, so it didn't bother me for sleeping.

I went on and on about the food on our review thread, so I won't bore you here. I was really disappointed in the food, we'll leave it at that.

It is a really gorgeous ship though. I'm usually really, really bad with PCD at this point in time, am a bit surprised I'm not as bad this time. A cruise is always what you make of it. :D

when you get onbaord-- you will look in your capers for a page like this- this page will tell you what is playing where.

Notice this is the first day onbaord and on the lido deck Calpso sounds with Tropical Fire is playing from 2 til the boat dril then start back up andplay til 6pm.

Never saw a thousand dollar bill either-- dont mean there isnt one.
