KyBuckeye Posted February 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2006 My best friend and I and my 2 children and her elderly mother need the impossible! We would like to find a safe, fairly reasonable (not cheap but not out of this world) hotel to stay in pre-cruise 3/31/06. We will need transportation from the airport and also to the port next morning, We don't want to rent a car so need walking distance restaurants close enough for young children. Does anyone have any suggestions? What about priceline, I've used them once or twice but can't seem to find what they offer in the airport Ft. Lauderdale hotels area. I sure would appreciate any help on this. Thanks!!
copper6606 Posted February 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2006 Last year we stayed at the Ft. Lauderdale airport hoel. It was safe, clean, great around the pool and not too expensive. We ate around the Tiki bar, even with kids! There is also a resteraunt inside and I believe breakfast was free. They say they have the biggest and best cheezeburgers there. I can usually take one or leave it but these were the BEST and BIGGEST I ever had!! Hope this helps . Oh by the way ,they offer free shuttles to and from the airport and cruise termanal.:):)
Sass4 Posted February 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I couldn't narrow down the search on Ft Lauderdale hotel. Do you have a website or address? Thanks
KyBuckeye Posted February 8, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I couldn't find it either. Airport is in alot of names. I did read the thread about hotels in Ft. Lauderdale but am looking to pay under $200 a night if possible. Thanks for any help.
sunsetme Posted February 8, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2006 embassy suites would be ideal for you--lots of restaurants, supermarket nearby. breakfast is included--down side no shuttle from airport anymore. you can take a cab. they do have transportation to the port but there is a charge. Katfncy Posted February 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I've heard good things about the hotels on 17th street. I booked the Holiday InnEX-FT LAUDLE-CONVENTION CTR for less than 200 a night. They are around restuarants and close to the port. I booked right with them.

Don't get hung up on a free hotel shuttle, sometimes they're just more trouble then they're worth. 17th Street hotels would be perfect for you. They're close enough to the airport and port that taxi fares won't kill your budget. Check these out for availability: Renaissance... http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/FLLBR Embassy Suites... http://www.embassysuites.com/en/es/...ctyhocn=FLLSOES Holiday Inn Express... http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hd/fllcc Extended Stay America... http://www.extendedstayamerica.com/...ter-marina.html or another favorite by the airport that offers shuttles and plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, LaQuinta Ft Lauderdale Airport: http://www.lq.com/lq/properties/propertyProfile.do?ident=LQ985&propId=
