Camp Carnival? Fantasy ?/CCL ?

Recommended Posts

Hi-

We are taking our 2.5 (turns 3 last day of cruise) and 6 year old sons on a last minute 4 day Fantasy cruise. We have cruised on Disney several times and RCI but my boys preferred to stay with us bc after all it is a family vacation. Our oldest is now 6 so he may be interested in going to be with other kids his age. How do I sign them up, I read enough to know they will be in different age groups? Do they have set activities for the sea day they (6 year old) may want to go to? Do they give parents a pager or such?

What is there to do after dinner? We have never taken them on Carnival. Are the shows appropriate for them? I assume my DH will head for the casino (lol) so what can I do with them.

Thanks for all of your help. I am heading out on the 5 day Sensation for my annual Mommies only trip and will post when we return.

Thanks!!!

Go to the Camp Carnival Orientation on the first day. You will most likely be approached by them as you board and they will give you the schedule of activities. They will also place wristbands on the kids with their Muster Stations just in case they are needed.

They have planned activites all listed out in a Camp Carnival Capers that you will be given. With the age of both of your children, you will have to sign them in and out and they will ask the kids who you are (just to be sure it's Mom, Dad, Uncle John, etc.) They have all kinds of activites including a dinner on the formal night so Mom and Dad can go to dinner childless if you choose. They had parties, talent shows, games and both my kids had a blast. They didn't want to stay with us.

Our son was 9 at the time and he asked to go to the overnight party (It was an additional charge, but well worth it) and had a blast. They had a scavenger hunt, played hide and go seek in the show lounge, had a ice cream party and basically stayed up all night. He was so tired the next day, but had a great time.

They do have a kiddie pool for the toddler. Your 6 year old may also want to try the waterslide. Ours loved it and Mom and Dad can go down also.

They do offer group babysitting from 10pm until 1am (I think) for a charge if the two of you want to go out and dance or go to the late shows.

Just go and have a great time. Carnival is known for their kids programs and we have never been disappointed!

Thank you so much for the information and details. It helps a lot. The last 2 years my boys did not go "much" into the kids clubs which my goodness were Disney and looked fun but then they were the first year 1.5 and 4 and then a couple of months ago 2 & 5 so maybe this month (lol). I am from S.C. too! I grew up there and went to USC in Columbia. My DH is a Marine so now we are in NC but closer to home than when we were in Ca.

Once again, thanks!
