Star Embarkation Time???

We sailed on 1/4, and we got there at about 11:30. There were porters there ready to help and very helpful, he took the time to explain it all to us. He told us he'd take the bags, go through the stairs, check in, and then we'd get a number and wait in a large waiting room. We had our pick of chairss, there were probably 100 people there by then. We literally walked straight up to check in, no waiting in a cow line. Se sat and waited for an hour and a half in chairs and we took turn watching our carry ons and walked around, took pictures of the outside of the ship, watched them load the suitcases, ..... But we weren't waiting in LINE. I think that was the nice thing, the wait was the same, but we weren't frustrated or ticked off that people were trying to cut. Yes they will try, but that is in no part the cruise line's responsibility. If you want it to be "stress-less" I'd get there around 11:30. It did fill pretty quickly after we went and sat in the chairs. We got a #3 ticket. They started calling pax's onboard at 1:00 , and our group was through security and onboard by 1:30. It was the easiest and least stressed we'd ever experienced in our 4 cruises

We arrived at the port at 11:30 am (had to check out of our LAX area hotel at 11:00), and we were in our cabin at 12:30. We were not expecting to board until at least 1:00.

We were allowed into the terminal at 11:30 but not permitted to get into the roped off check-in lines until 12:00. As a result, the people who arrived early and had seats in the terminal ended up in line behind the later arrivals who congregated in the open area around the lines.

We used the Latitudes line for embarkation at 12:00 on 1-20-06. We were one of the first groups in line. It seemed at that time that the suite line, the latitudes line, and the line for first timers were all about the same length and moving at the same rate.

When we embarked on our NCL Star Alaskan cruise in September 2004, we were in the Latitudes line while our friends, first-time cruisers, were in the regular line. Our friends were aboard the ship a full half hour before we were!!
