zippimom Posted February 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2006 I'm checking my scooter at curbside. Do you give them a key? so the wheels will move.
daju22 Posted February 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2006 Hi Zippimom, Why check your scooter curbside? My husband rides his to the door of the plane and they take it there. No, we don't give the key to them. Just make sure the steering isn't locked. They usually just carry it down from the plane door(same little door where they take baby strollers, wheelchairs, etc. down the stairs to the cargo hold). I just think it's so much better for us when he is independent and can ride around the airport especially between flights or if you're early. Here's a thread I started to get some answers about scooters and planes since we were new scooter users at the time: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=243009 Hope this helps you,
zippimom Posted February 12, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Thanks for the tread that was very helpful. I'm traveling with my mum and she is 88 year old. I will be on Continental from Houston. They have an electric cart that takes you to the gate, which is about an half of mile from security. I wouldn't want my mum to have to ride the electric cart while I was on my scooter. So I'll check my scooter at the curb and take the electric cart with my mum. daju22 Posted February 12, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Hi Zippimom, Sounds like a good reason-being with your mom is really important! Flying to see mine next week-can't wait. Have a super cruise!
