Hawaii Liner Voyage

I have friends going on QM2 Hawaii Liner voyage after the "Meeting of the Queens". Does anyone know if there have been itinerary changes following the pod incident? They have not received any notification.

We haven't heard from Cunard but apparently some people have been told that the Oahu and Maui stops have been swapped over. Don't think this can have anything to do with the pods though.

Indeed, according to the Cunard website, they are now showing

that the QM2 will now arrive in Honolulu first and Lahaina the

following day ( reverse order ). Perhaps has something to do with

maiden call celebrations rather than a pod issue.

"Celebrations" makes sense to me. There ain't much to welcome you to Lahaina, except for a whale spout or two.

 

Actually, we'll now be traveling in order, rather than going from Maui to Oahu, then all the way across to the Big Island.

 

My only regret: I wanted to celebrate my birthday in Lahaina, but Honolulu is OK. We've got plen'y friends there to buy us a drink.:D

Thank you for the responses. We are off on an Eastbound Transatlantic in September. From the content of some of the other threads, it looks like we'll be on 3 pods!
