Packing light for cruise

Let me check which Board this is.... oh, Royal Caribbean.  Agree with all the others, you won't need formal or even a suit.  For RC or Princess we (we're two guys) bring a sport coat which we wear on the plane anyway.  No tie.  A sport coat is at least a nod to being dressy, keeps you warm in air conditioning, and gives you some pockets to stash your iPhone, or reading glasses, or a paper invitation to a cocktail party.   I have a 'travel' sport coat that's super light, doesn't wrinkle and has extra pockets for security.  I save my designer wool sport coats for home where weight and space aren't a concern.

On X or HAL we have rented tuxes from the rental service - it is nice to get dressed up but we have to schlep the tuxes, shiny shoes, and all the other gear just for a few hours two or three nights out of a cruise!
