mountainhouse Posted February 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Hopefully, Ine or someone else will know: We have friends travelling to Holland in mid-April. They're headed from Amsterdam up to Friesland. They want to hopefully see large flower farms on the way. Is that possible? I thought most were in Southern Holland. I suggested they go to the Keukenhof, since that's close to Amsterdam. TIA.

Ine Posted February 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2006 Keukenhof opens this year at March 23, so yes they can visit it. Many flowers will be in bloom already and there are always special displays in the glasshouses. From Amsterdam they can take a train to Haarlem and continue by bus or book a excursion:http://www.keytours.nl/ You donot tell how they will travel to Friesland. If it is by car, they can drive over the "Afsluitdijk" between North Holland and Friesland. Although there is no Keukenhof there, in the northern part of Nort Holland, there are flowerfields too.
