I Luv Crusin Posted February 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Or is Sign and Sail? I always get that confused. Anyway are there ANY perks for getting a Gold Card on your cruise, other than "welcome back"?

With the Gold Card, just the welcome back and the Past Guest Party with the Pin. :)
sallyb Posted February 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2006 It is just a signal to the crew members that you are a repeat customer. No big deal, but a nice souvenir.:)
mpetry Posted February 13, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2006 Really fun when you get one and your wife doesn't  I had to swear that I didn't go on a cruise with another woman that week she was out of town and the phone at the house was out and she couldn't get ahold of me for a week  LOL Not true. But I was the only one that got one. My wife or daughter didn't get one. I had fun with it though :D Mike
sallyb Posted February 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2006 When I booked our first cruise, I forgot to put Junior on my DH's name. Now I am one cruise ahead of him. My FIL is a past cruiser, I guess? This will matter when we go platinum, I will have to call Carnival & prove our cruises! RizzoLee Posted February 14, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2006 HA-I didn't even get a single 'Welcome Back'. I kept hoping and hoping for one, but alas, never. (sigh) (sniff) :( I even had to explain to a bartender, a dancer, and some of the casino staff what a gold card meant, lol.
Rare silentbob007 Posted February 14, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2006 I got nothing out of my gold card ... in fact, I never even received an invite to the past guest party. Since I didn't know when it was, I kind of forgot about it until the last day. I went to the purser's desk to complain and get my pin.
starketcher Posted February 14, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2006 Heck, I've gone to the parties, but never knew until I read here that they gave away pins! This will be about my 6th Carnival cruise too!
Meco21 Posted February 14, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 14, 2006 how many cruises do you need with Carnival to get platinum?
cruisealot Posted February 14, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2006 10 cruises get you Platinum status! I'm one away from Platinum. I keep hereing different stories about what you get once you go Platinum, but I can't find any info about specific benefits of having this status. I plan on taking a second cruise this yr just to get Platinum sooner! I would also highly recommend using the same travel agent for all your bookings. This is the 7th cruise we have booked with these agents and they upgraded us to a suite! Loyalty has its benefits! Happy cruising, cruisealot

This will be about my 6th Carnival cruise too! That's surprising, as the pin is sometimes delivered to your cabin with your invitation, and at other times, it's given to you by the cruise director as you enter the party. (This is the Past Guest party, not the Captain's Party.)
Cotton Posted February 14, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2006 how many cruises do you need with Carnival to get platinum? Your tenth cruise on Carnival will get you the platinum card. On my next cruise, I should see a whole different card. Mine was gold on the Paradise (before that, all cards were blue/white). I never keep my cards after the cruises anyway, but it will be nice to see something different.;)

I've been on 8 cruises and I never get the magazine! I send them emails, call customer service, and I still can't get the magazine. The Carnival rep tells me they have input my info, but everytime it never shows. Happy cruising, cruisealot
Cotton Posted February 15, 2006 #15 Share Posted February 15, 2006 That is hit or miss, getting Currents magazine. I haven't seen one in my mailbox in over a year - even after repeated calls.:o
