Going through customs?

 Me and my family will be on the Victory on Feb.26. I was wondering a t every port call do you have to go through customs / security every time you exit and and re-board the ship? Say for gift shopping and excurisions?

Customs: Not you personally, but the ship must clear Customs and Immigration in each port before passengers are allowed to go ashore.

Security: Yes. In most cases, access to the pier area is secured and at the very least you must show your S&S card to gain entry. Upon re-boarding, you must pass through airport-style magnetometers and all carry-on parcels are x-rayed.

You, personally, will go through customs when you disembark the ship at the homeport, but not at ports-of-call.

When you are leaving any port in MX, a Mexican official will ask for your photo ID, as well as your ship card. Every time you exit or board the ship, you will slide your S&S card, identifying yourself - and your packages may or may not be x-rayed.
