Different Question about Miami Hotel

Hi, my husband and I are spending a Friday and Saturday night in Miami, before our Valor cruise on August 6. We want to be within walking distance of the beach and love small intimate inns. We were looking at the Bay Harbour Inn, but that seems very far north of where the airport and cruise port is. Would the South beach area be our best bet to avoid spending a small fortune in taxi fare to the hotel and then to the ship? Hotel St. Michel seems nice as well. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Christine

Small, romantic inns in South Beach would be; Cordoza, The Hotel, and a few others. What is your budget and do you want beachfront or Ocean Drive?

 

South Beach is probably your closest beachfront to the Port of Miami.

It doesn't have to be beachfront, we don't mind walking a few blocks. I would describe our budget as being within the $100 range.

With a $100 budget I would bid for something on priceline. I would go for a minimum three star.

 

August is off season for Miami and South Beach. You should be able to get a great hotel for that price on priceline.

A couple of years ago we stayed at the Fairwinds Hotel at 11th & Collins. It was an older hotel with small rooms, but was clean and very reasonably priced. It had a good restaurant and gave a 15% discount to hotel guests.
