Steveok Posted February 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Anybody know what the fee is to use an ATM on a Royal Caribbean ship? I have always brought travelers cheks but would like to simplify things a bit next week. Thanks cruisers

Lou33 Posted February 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Don't bring travelers checks! Don't use the ATM! The best way to get cash is to go to the cashier in the casino, ask for cash, and they will charge it to your onboard account. That way you avoid the ATM fees and you might even earn frequent flier miles on your credit card. When we go on a cruise, we just bring whatever cash happens to be in our pocket at the time. KamloopsCruisers Posted February 16, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2006 I agree with Lou33 - we've always just paid a visit to the casino and withdrawn cash there. I believe there is a $2000 per DAY limit, but we've never taken near that much. I think the most we've obtained in one visit was about $400. Another benefit of this, is that the cash "withdrawals" are just added to your Seapass account and don't show up on your credit card statement until your next bill. This is what we do, too. This way we don't have to worry about carrying cash, or buying traveler's checks. We are lucky on RCI that they don't charge a fee for getting money at the casino like they do on Princess.
love2vacation Posted February 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Re casino cash- my DH found this out in 03 on our first cruise. (He does spend some time in the casino while cruising!) This is the way to go if you don't want to carry a lot of cash on you. Though we do take a bit of cash with to start and the ship will cash your travelers checks, too. Buccaneergirl Posted February 16, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2006 We always get our cash from the casino too! We use it for the tips at the end of the cruise and anything else we might need. It is definitely the way to go!
Cape Cruiser 2007 Posted February 16, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Thank you all for this tip! I was going to stock up on Travelers checks. It also gives me another reason to go to the casino! But hunny- I need some cash! LOL
