kids and passports

Only because I know y'all love to get this question. Certified Birth certs are ok for under 14? Right? No picture id. I know/I know. He had a passport since 3 but it expired awhile ago. Didn't worry about it and then we planned this last minute trip. Thought I could renew via mail, but can't for kids, both parents must be present and the places are open 9-3 mon-fri. So it's just not that easy.

I think it depends on when you are going. If in 2006, a certified birth certificate is fine. I believe after 12/31/2006 a passport will become mandatory.

It does depend on your itinerary.

 

We got our son a passport to make everything easy. We were able to have my husband sign notarized forms saying I had permission to get my son a passport. That way he did not have to appear in person at the passport office. You may look into that if you decide to get a passport.
