CalLuvsCrusingToo Posted September 1, 2021 #51 Share Posted September 1, 2021 I posted this on my Roll Call, but thought I would add here, for those flying.... I remembered they offer covid tests at Oakland airport (for you bay area folks) which is geared towards all the Southwest Hawaii flights. I looked thru all the test options and they have a 2 hour test done right there on the premisis that qualifies for cruising. (Same as what Hawaii accepts) They recommend Not doing the test the day you fly? But you certainly could. At least for a backup Appt. I went ahead & booked tests for both of us, 2 1/2 hours before our flight, morning of cruise..... AND booked Another appt. 2 days before the cruise. (Can then cancel the day of cruise test, if the other goes off without a hitch) Would mean going to OAK airport a couple days before our cruise.... but since we really don't have a terrific local option? This could work out ok. I checked a few other local airports, & some others that offer this include Long Beach, San Jose & SFO. There were others, I don't remember the rest off the top of my head. 😷

I called the Quest Diagnostics near me and they said they did not have a test that would get back within 48 hrs and when I mentioned that Princess is telling passengers to use Quest the person sounded frustrated and said “I know, sorry”. Quest offerings must vary by location. Hope others have better luck!
