Garden of the Groves Carnival excursion

I've found a lot of info about the garden of the groves, in Freeport Bahamas but not about the excursion through Carnival.  I just want to know if anyone went on their own instead of following the tour guide?  We want to follow the tour guide, but may not be able to keep up and don't want to hold the group back.

I did the garden/4 wheeling excursion through carnival. The garden was not guided at all. You could go wherever you wanted.
