donna5 Posted February 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2006 You can get French Polynesian Franks at the pursers desk too. Which is a good idea for using the Le Trucks. All the Taxis took U.S. dollars. We also used our credit card for purchases and even with the new added fees, the conversion rate was quite good. I always take extra travelers checks to cash in case we need extra money(from pursers desk) and usually end up not using them. But if I didn't then we'd need the money. biensur Posted February 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2006 We did all our tours independently and paid cash in US dollars every time. We exchanged some money on board for use in local shops. We always looked for Le Magasin (Little grocery stores) for snacks, water and Hinano beers. They prefer CPF

JLC@SD Posted February 20, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Can you pay in US$ or Euros if you book a excursion righton the dock ? TP cruise March 20 All dock tours were quoted in US Dollars and all tours we took were paid for in USD. You do not need local currency.
chasetf Posted February 20, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Can you pay in US$ or Euros if you book a excursion right on the dock ? TP cruise March 20 Tahiti uses the French Pacific Franc not the Euro. And as mentioned above... dollars are readily accepted.
