WannabeaTraveler Posted February 18, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted February 18, 2006 What is the Skipper's Club? Thanks Luv! We're very excited but now I'm curious and am trying to find out exactly what all it means! I don't want to miss out on anything. Originally we booked a 6 something gauranteed. Someone else that is cruising the same day/ship with us had the same booked and were bumped up to at cat. 11.
MrPete Posted February 18, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Depending on the port of embarkation, it's anywhere from priority check-in to priority boarding. In NY, it got me onto the ship AFTER the people I was on line in front of before security.

scaredsilly Posted February 19, 2006 #15 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Hubby and I just got bumped from a 6A (booked room R 148) on the Elation out of Galveston last month, ended up getting a Cat 11 (V25) and all we got was priority boarding (instead of the long lines, you get to go to a room off to the side) and that was it for any "perks". Have fun

WannabeaTraveler Posted February 19, 2006 Author #17 Share Posted February 19, 2006 I know Lakeman, I was floored. I asked the guy on the phone to double check lol. I think I'll call Carnival again tomorrow and have them triple check.
poolgal Posted February 19, 2006 #18 Share Posted February 19, 2006 You were booked in a 6a and were bumped to a cat 11....or your cat 11 got bumped to a Penthouse Suite???? There is a HUGE difference. Either way its all good, but let me know if you want because I have pictures of a Penthouse #1 on a Fantasy class ship. Cat 11's are fine but if you really just got a Penthouse from a 6a you need to go buy a lottery ticket.....and baby I can tell you all about it. You will get a whole lot more then just the skippers club.... Penthouse Suites on only on Fantasy class ships and not on any deck plans. They are at the exclusive use of the owners. 1200 sq ft+ deck. I've stayed in the one on the Sensation. Pls let me know if your in the Penthouse or Cat 11 Thx, PG
WannabeaTraveler Posted February 19, 2006 Author #19 Share Posted February 19, 2006 They guy on the phone said penthouse. U83 is what he said the cabin # is. Is that a penthouse? I don't think it is what you are talking about tho...I think this is a cat. 12...maybe? Hell I don't know, I was happy with my cat. 6 cabin lol. poolgal Posted February 19, 2006 #20 Share Posted February 19, 2006 I just ck'd the Elation Page on Carnival and found they are calling their Cat 12 Penthouse Suites now. Did they give you a cabin number? There are 2 Penthouse suites which are actually the owners suites Penthouse 1 and 2. On your Documents it will say TBD. If they gave you a cabin # its a cat 12 or 11.

WannabeaTraveler Posted February 19, 2006 Author #23 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Sure, NOW you tell me to buy the lottery ticket! Our lottery was 300 million tonight. Perhaps I'll buy one tomorrow? May I ask how you came about being in the owner's penthouse?
poolgal Posted February 19, 2006 #24 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Thats a long story.... You bring the Jack and I'll bring the Seven and I'll tell ya all about it, but I'll give ya the highlights: One of the most memorable vacations of my life...and I've had a few Dinner at the Captains table every night Complementary everything for a week We were the first one's on the ship and the first one's off We were escorted to our suite by one of the ships officers The absolute best treatment I've ever received on a cruise, which shall we say followed the absolute worst traetment I've ever had in my life. It was a settlement issue How's that for politically correct! lol It still makes me smile...
