Cinderellie Posted May 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Hi -- we've booked a Guaranteed outside stateroom for the first time, and most people say it's likely we'll get upgraded, but it depends on how full the ship is. Is there a way you can tell? Will Carnival really tell you? Or is there some other authority? We are travelling on the Conquest on 8/29 this year. Thanks! Retired LEO Posted May 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Sometimes you can go by price. If you notice the price dropping, they're trying to sell. If the price begins to go up, the cabins are selling. I posed that question to my PVP today when I noticed the prices dropping. eerbeek Posted May 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Good one, fgresko! But who, in their right mind, would pass on the buffet, no matter how full? PVP's can tell AT A GLANCE how full a ship is AND how many pax under 18 are booked. If they don't tell you, it's because they don't want to look it up, but my PVP kept me in the know DAILY. He was even able to tell me the chances of upgrade from a mini-suite to Penthouse for a friend, including how many bookings were higher in priority than my friend's booking. It PAYS to have a great PVP!!!! Lido Deck Linda Fantasy 2/6/2000 Victory 3/23/2003 Destiny 4/25/2004
marcyjane Posted May 8, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Ok Guys, I have which will be one of those "crazy questions were ask post". As well sorry to be so dumb. When looking at the ship's deck plans and reviewing the cabin locations when picking your cabin, you have a choice of Cat. 12 to 4 (I think that's right) where are the penthouse suites located??? I see no option on the web sites like, icruise etc. for the option for cabin "penthouse". *KristenInCT* Posted May 8, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 8, 2004 We booked Princess on Feb 26 this past year for the September 11th sailing of the Caribbean Princess and had our pick of alot of rooms. We paid $826 for a balcony room on the Baja Deck...I looked up our sailing a couple weeks ago on Expedia and found our catagory went up to $1300pp! There were very few rooms left. Last night I looked it up and there are no balcony or lower catagory rooms left. So, if the price goes up its selling...goes down ...its not. Head over to Expedia and check out your sailing. 9/11/04 ...days left til the Caribbean Princess!! rocktheboat Posted May 8, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Just because expedia has no cabins left, it doesn t mean another TA doesn t have a block of cabins left. So if one TA has nothing it doesn t mean the ship is sold out.
*KristenInCT* Posted May 9, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Rocktheboat, its is just a WAY to find out if is ship is booking up. I didnt say it was full proof. The price its self will let you know that. Price goes up...chances are the ships filling up....price goes down, ship has cabins left. 9/11/04 ...days left til the Caribbean Princess!! Triguy Posted May 10, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 10, 2004 "the Collatz Conjecture" aka "the 3X + 1 problem". Let f(x) be a function defined on the positive integers such that: f(x) = x/2 if x is even f(x) = (3*x+1)/2 if x is odd Then the conjecture is: iterates of f(x) will eventually reach 1 for any initial value of x. Do not forget that you must count 10 women and ten men and add X as one crew member. USE THIS FORMULA AND YOU WILL HAVE THE TOTAL numbers of people on board. Hope this helps. serene56 Posted May 10, 2004 #15 Share Posted May 10, 2004 No cruiselines will give out to you how many passengers are under 18. Now can they tell you if large roups ae booked either. But if you are cruising in the summer or holidays you can rest assured there will be tons of kids under 18.
