Tuscany4 Posted October 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2021 We were just about to book the Shadow for Nov 15 out of Rome heading for the Greek islands, when we heard about the 10 or so passengers that have just been offloaded from the Seabourn Ovation onto Rhodes for 10 days quarantine after testing COVID positive. Can someone confirm how often the testing is once the cruise has departed. Are all cruise lines subject to the same protocols? We started looking into going on a river cruise. As they only require testing as per the country you are arriving into, as a vaccinated U.K. citizen, we no longer require any test to fly into Germany. Possibly a lateral flow test to board the ship and then no other test till after arrival back home. The river cruise industry seems way more relaxed on its testing requirement, which at the moment would suite us as we have a sick relative at home and could possibly have to come home at a moments notice.? Any advise gratefully accepted.
Rare Silver Spectre Posted October 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2021 (edited) There is an LFtest to embark, daily temperature checks, a mid voyage LF and an optional leaving LF. Masks must be worn when moving around inside. And no, not all cruise lines test the same, Viking do daily PCR tests. sea bright Posted October 14, 2021 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2021 Yes, we used the included pre-departure antigen test on the Moon to travel back to NJ.

No, it’s a nightly spit test and they have a PCR lab on the ships. It’s on their website. Edited October 14, 2021 by Silver Spectre
