when will Sailor loot show up on the app?

what are the times for the night entertainment? to coordinate with dinner res

I didn’t have it right away when I boarded but it appeared before the end of the first night.

The times are kind of all over the place. Not your typical early and late showing.  Some shows or events only ran one time at that particular time.  Sometimes there was a show 2 times in a day.  No pattern that I saw.  Maybe someone else did.

Just booked.a B2B on here as well. Few questions if you don’t mind specific to B2B. Also not sure if you’re on the latter half yet, but when you are..,

1. Were you able to keep the same room between sailings and was it simple?
2. Did you have to retake a covid test between the two sailings? And, how long (if at all) did you have to leave the ship?

Thank you!! I hope you’re having an incredible time. 🙂

Just a note, a paper schedule is available each day at Sailor Services with a list of times, if you prefer paper over the app.

Any upscale brand of alcohol is more expensive.  My G&T at the Dock House was $11, my Aviation G&T at On The Rocks was $16.  Most drinks were in that range.

Upcharging for Aviation is new from when we sailed. I had Aviation in all my gin drinks and they were $11-$13 and no different than my hubby's well vodka drinks.

I am currently on a B2B on the Scarlet Lady and will try and answer as many questions as I can.  I'm posting picture on instagram under Parttimecruisers and will have videos up on youtube under the same name (may take a while to edit) about our experience as well.   I'm having trouble using my phone for cruise critics so I will try and use the laptop daily to check and answer questions. Please be patient. I want to give you all as much information as possible with things you want to know.  Please don't be afraid to ask here and I will try my best to answer.

Our B2B is coming up the last week of Jan., and have 2 Q's:  If we are allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine aboard, then does that mean we can bring 4 (2 for each cruise)? If we buy booze in the duty free on the 1st cruise will we get it the last night so we would have it for the 2nd?  Tx - BZ

1. We didn’t keep our room but others that did B2B did.
2. There was no testing during for us on our second voyage in October.  It took a total of about an hour.  We met in our designated place.  Checked in with the cruise personal, we were given a bracelet, escorted off, went through customs and then escorted back on after checking back in for second cruise.

I don’t know the answer. That is an interesting thought.  Let me know if it works or the last night of the first cruise.  I believe it is is 2 bottles per room so only 2.

I know that regular soda is available free of charge, but is it possible to get club soda at no charge?  With a splash of Grenadine 🙂 ?  I enjoy flavored seltzer water at home instead of regular soda, can't tolerate aspartame in diet soda.

TIA

I can answer this one! I also cannot do aspartame and do not do sugar, so I brought along some of those squirt bottles to flavor water.  There is sparking water and club soda available for free. Pro tip - if you want to take some to your room then go to Sip Bar and ask for a bottle of club soda.  They have them at the counter there and by the end of our cruise the bartender just grabbed one and handed it to me when he saw me coming!

anyone know (or is able to check) what the spin bike shoe clip situation is? the usual is one side has cages for non-cycling shoes and the other side has clips for (usually two-hole) cleats, but it'd be good to know if this is the case before i pack my spinning shoes...

Here is the answer I received from Sailor Services via email:

"Ahoy there William,

Thanks so much for swimming out to us, we hope you're having a fabulous Thursday!
You can definitely bring 4 bottles with you on your back-to-back. Just make sure to pack them carefully in your carry-on luggage and inform our Crew at the port of your multiple voyages with us."

Thank you Ociana, fellow Oregonian 🙂  That sets my mind at ease at bit!  As a bariatric patient I "shouldn't" do sugar but so far I have been successful with moderation - too much makes me queasy anyways!   I have a bunch of those flavored electrolyte powders I can add to my sparkling water or club soda, may start experimenting at home with those. I usually I favor Dry Soda (the brand) I or mix 1/4 can of OLIPOP soda (or something similar) with flavored seltzer water.  I am looking forward to trying some of the seltzer drinks at the athletic club.  Thanks again!

The room description for the sea terrace mentions a fully stocked mini bar in the cabin…is that included and do you know what is in it?

booze isn't included, but if there are sodas they are.  i believe the ginger beer, red bulls and kombucha are the only chargeable drinks that would be in there.

Normal SPD clips (i.e., not Peloton-style).  I was all set on bringing my own shoes until I realized how much freaking luggage I already had.  They have Pearl Izumi shoes to borrow in a variety of sizes, but if you have really big or small feet, I'd suggest getting there early to snag a pair.  Also, don't forget a water bottle!

ETA: the pedals have clips on one side, cages on the other, so cycling shoes not 100% necessary if you don't like them!

Hello,

A few questions, since you offered:

1. Do they take all luggage at the pier? Or can you carry on your own bags? We're using carryon size only, so we prefer to just bring them to our cabin ourselves.

2. Do the cabins have hairdryers? Are they mounted to the wall? I hate the hair dryers that require you to hold in the button to use it. I am packing now, so if I can leave my hair dryer at home, it would save some space.

Thanks for any answers to these odd questions. 🙂

You can carry your own luggage, but the ramp is really long and carpeted.  We had a couple checked bags and brought one carry-on sized one ourselves and it was kind of a schlep with that one bag.

Cabins do have hairdryers, and they are normal hairdryers, not attached to the wall.

I am so looking forward to Grog Walk and Shots. When will I be able to reserve these events?

Once you're able to connect to the ship's wifi.  If something looks sold out initially, keep checking back because people do cancel, and it looked like VV shifted some things around/added/took away as the trip went on.

Grog walk on our 5 night was also held on night 2, but we did on night 1.  I thought it was nice to do the first night so we could check all the bars out and meet people earlier.

There is no mini bar items included in a regular sea terrace.  Our was completely empty when we boarded.

I swore I posted this in this thread but can’t find the information.  They have clips and you can borrow shoes.   I don’t remember the name of the clips, but I will look it up back in my notes and get back to you before Monday.

My wife and I are considering VV for next year. However, I have read a few comments stating that smoking is a bit more uncontrolled on this line than others. Can anyone speak to this experience? My wife has asthma and smoke of any kind is problematic.

Most of what I have read is very positive, but I am concerned about smoking.

Thank you!

There are only two spots that I know of where smoking is allowed.  A spot on the other side of Richard’s Rooftop and a room behind the cage in the casino but it is completed closed off from the other parts. I didn’t spend much time up top so there may have been other places but these are the only places I’m aware of smoking being allowed.

I went over Christmas and didn't experience a problem. I also have asthma and a lovely strong sense of smell. We are going again in a few weeks!!
