As of November 1, COVID tests are no longer required to enter St Maarten for fully vaccinated travelers.

It sounds like all we need is our vaccine card.

From a cruising standpoint from the USA, kids under 12 have to still test anyway before sailing and 12 and older have to be vaxed anyway. So I'm not really sure how this affects cruising. I think this is really geared to people flying in?

Yes - for cruises which embark in St. Maarten, this is impactful.   Additionally, for cruises which stop at St. Maarten, a negative covid test is no longer a requirement of St. Maarten (the cruise line rules are different).

Our cruise is round-trip St. Maarten.  We would have needed a covid test to fly there, another one to board the boat and yet another one to get off the boat back in St. Maarten.  With this change, the pre-tip test is no longer required (and timing was tricky with flights, etc). We still get our boarding test and we will get a pre-departure test that allows us to fly back to the US.

Any advice on how to handle the pre-departure test for return to the US?  Not sure where to go, will our hotel help us?

Just got back last week, if you have a car, there are a number of lower cost options.

There's a pharmacy next to the Super U in Hope Estate (french side).  Charges about $40 US/person.  Results in about an hour.

There's a clinic in the French Quarter on the main road - I don't know the address - on the right as you are going North East (next to a pharmacy).  Charges about $50 US/person.  Results in about an hour.

Have fun!
