dawnp Posted May 8, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted May 8, 2004 We had a hard time deciding between the legend and the miracle. Wanted to do the legend but the timing just didn't work out with vacation timing in August. Maybe next year pgmrdev - I see you go back and forth between ccl and princess - how do they compare? or are they apples and oranges? pgmrdev Posted May 8, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 8, 2004 To dawnp: I actually prefer Princess for the food and the crowd (less kids). In addition, the timing and frequency of entertainment is better on Princess. That is, they generally show shows twice each night, making it possible for each dining to see two shows a night if desired. But, money is the driving issue. Better deals can be had on Carnival. I also prefer the cabin bedding on Carnival. The bedding is twin/king as opposed to undersized twin/queen of Princess. In addition, I like the way breakfast/lunch are handled in the dining room on sea days on Carnival. You usually sit at your same dinner table for those meals. Traveling with a group, there is no need to have to wait for them to show before being seated as they will always know where to find you. If they decide not to show, you are already seated. Otherwise, we have to agree on a time on Princess as to when and where to meet before being seated as seating is open. This only applies to the dining room where we prefer to eat all our meals.

Grand Princess 2-2001 Grand Princess 12-2001 Carnival Paradise 3-2002 Carnival Destiny 10-2002 Golden Princess 10-2003 Carnival Legend 6-8-2004

Nanatravel Posted May 8, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 8, 2004 We are from New Hampshire but I used to spend my days in MA where we both were born. We live in a border town, so come and go quite often. We don't have a cruise booked as I was recently laid off. That is why I spend my free time reading and trying to help other cruisers when possible. I too love the size of the new Carnival cabins and some of the great "special" cabins with huge balconies. The values we have found have also been great for our last 3 Carnival cruises. fascination 5/10 Posted May 9, 2004 #22 Share Posted May 9, 2004 dawnp.... Yes... we are so lucky to have JetBlue here in VT... the planes are great, TV's, the connections are always good for us from here toFL, and the prices can't be beat! Used to drive 3 hours to Manchester, NH to fly Southwest. It wasn't bad going there anticipating a vacation, but coming home already depressed facing that drive was a bummer! Now, 10 minute drive to the airport and we're off! On Monday!!
