KenM Posted February 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2006 We are scheduled to take the 2 July cruise on the Infinity. We are flying into Seattle and driving up to Whistler and spend several days prior to the cruise. Does anyone know if you can store your luggage at Canada Place prior to the cruise? For those who have stayed at Whistler, any tips or must see/do activities? We are staying at Delta Suites. Thanks Ken
sammiedawg Posted February 19, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2006 We've stored bags for the day at Canada Place after a cruise, I dont know about before. Could you just put them in the trunk of your rental car? As far as Whistler goes, we stayed 2 nights and it was 1/2 day too long. There is not much going on in the summer. Dont over look Vancouver and Victoria, more to do there than in Whistler
KenM Posted February 19, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted February 19, 2006 Thanks for the input Was trying to avoid the crowds around the terminal on cruise day by dropping bags early and just dropping the car and then carrying one bag for check in... Have been to Vancouver before- was looking for different surrounding area.. I had heard Whistler was a nice place with some nice day trips out of that location.. wa.mama Posted February 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2006 KenM, Whistler in the summer is one of our favorite trips. It just depends how active you want to be. We've had great white-water rafting, ATVing, zip line tours and mountain biking, not to mention soaking in the hot tub while taking in the beautiful scenery. Our kids once said they'd rather go there than to Disneyland. The drive up from Vancouver is also quite beautiful. The town is set up nicely, and is all amenable to foot traffic, though there is a bit of building going on in preparation for the 2010 Olympics. If you're looking for shopping or touristy-type attractions, try Victoria instead. They've got the Gardens, museums, teas, etc. If you're young (or young at heart) and active, Whistler is a great choice!
sammiedawg Posted February 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2006 IMHO, there is lots more to do in Seattle, the Olympic Peninsula, Victoria Vancouver area. Whistler was OK, we're glad we made the trip but we were ready to leave. There were activity magazines that would give you ideas and many restaurants. We stopped to watch bungee jumping outside of town, not many customers that day. In town, we took a 2 hour trolley type tour. The historical train ride up into the mountains that we planned for the second day didnt work out, it had closed the year we were there, 2003. On the way, stop at Calipano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain.
