dillardr Posted November 14, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2021 After 18 months of postponed trips and tons of research and hoops jumped through, we did it. We flew into Paris on October 30. Easy entry with CDC card but we also had the French Covid QR app. We applied for it several weeks prior and it was easy to upload our CDC card and we used that app in Germany, Switzerland, France and The Netherlands. We had to get a Covid test in Paris to board our Viking ship and it cost $44 euros each and took about 2 hours. They emailed our results within 24 hours so we were set. So to summarize, we were asked for our vaccine report about half the time. The French QR was our go to code and never failed, we did use our hard copy CDC card a few times with no issues. Masks were hit and miss, but we had to wear them in supermarkets everywhere. As for the Viking Singh , keeping in mind, this was our first River cruise after multiple ocean cruises and we were impressed. We were traveling with my 89 year old Dad and it was so nice to be on a small ship. The personal touch of of the crew was great. Cabin was great and service was spot on. Kevin, Akus, Jon-Jon, Mo, Ivan, The Sisters and on and on, such a great crew. What a great experience and so glad we made the trip. Thanks Viking
Wings55 Posted November 15, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2021 I love to hear these stories about people discovering river cruising. We've been there and I can appreciate how they feel. It doesn't matter if it's one of the fancy lines or a more basic option, most people love their experience and that's what counts. Paul
