brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #101 Share Posted December 7, 2021 I went 5 for 24 in Guess That Tune: TV Themes. Most are 90s shows and earlier. Law & Order, Fresh Price of Bel-Air Air, Friends, and Frasier are easy, but shows like Six Feet Under and Perfect Strangers are not on my radar. brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #105 Share Posted December 7, 2021 I've heard of guests complaining about the change to the VIFP offers. They are no longer in your room, you have to go on a bit of a scavenger hunt to collect them. For example, your VIFP bottled water is requested from room service or ordered at any bar, your chocolates are ordered via room service, and your pin and platinum passenger gift are picked up at the photo gallery, however they must be picked up at least 2 days before the end of the cruise. Perhaps the most valuable change is in the casino. Previously, platinum and diamond (and maybe gold?) received a free entry into the slot tournament or blackjack tournament. Since these are not currently taking place, you get $25 in "FunPlay" at the casino cashier. Unbeknownst to me and likely many others, the "FunPlay" is actually just $25 in cash that can be claimed at the casino cashier. Even if you don't gamble, don't miss your free cash! Based upon their tracking sheets, it looks like only around 25% of qualifying passengers have picked up their free cash so far. Don't miss your free money!

Howard I have seen the gym from the exterior, but did not tour the spa. I have a Massage Envy membership at home, and $179 + gratuity for a 50 minute massage onboard is a bit rich for my blood. The gym did not appear busy either time I walked by. It may be more crowded in the morning? I'll try to stop by a little earlier in the day and report back. There is a spa/hot tub in the middle of the gym, which has been occupied by a single couple each time I've walked by.
brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #107 Share Posted December 7, 2021 The pin (gold and above) is a generic "Bringing the Fun in 2021" pin. John Heald states that the ship-specific pins will return soon as the rest of the fleet returns to service. The current VIFP gift (platinum and diamond) onboard Carnival Legend is a rubber VIFP luggage tag. Both can be claimed at the photo gallery at least two days prior to the end of the cruise. brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #108 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Beautiful sunset on the Serenity Deck this evening. Outdoor temperature is in the mid 70s with calm seas.

brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #110 Share Posted December 7, 2021 In addition to Serenity Deck (Lido / 9 Aft), there are about 10 clamshell daybeds on each side of Deck 10 Aft. 1:50 PM and there are several available on the port side. 5:20 PM and all of the clamshells on starboard are empty. No one is taking advantage of the sunset views.

brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #113 Share Posted December 7, 2021 I just walked past the steakhouse and witnessed a large party seated at the corner table, every one of them with their heads bowed. At first I thought they were saying a family prayer to begin their meal, but as I got closer, I realized they all have their heads down looking at the menus on their smart phones! 😆 Every one in unison around the table on their phones. No interaction. As much as I love the convenience of being able to preview the menus on the Carnival Hub app, I will look forward to the day when paper menus and lively discussion about what everyone around the table is looking forward to enjoying for dinner.

brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #115 Share Posted December 7, 2021 I took a quick detour through the buffet to see what was on the dinner buffet tonight. These photos were taking just prior to opening at 6:00 PM. Also available are the deli, pizza, and Seafood Shack (extra charge).
brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #116 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Seafood Corner, which I incorrectly referred to as the Seafood Shack in the previous post, had about five guests in line at 6:00 PM this evening. The snow crab legs are quite pricy this year, and there are no Dungeness (out of season) or king crab legs on offer on this sailing.
brilliantseas Posted December 7, 2021 Author #117 Share Posted December 7, 2021 Here is the full Seafood Corner menu for this sailing, courtesy of the Carnival Hub app. The only thing that appeals to me is the lobster roll, but I think I will pass on it this evening. I'm currently debating between dinner in the MDR or Bonsai Sushi. I guess I should get changed for dinner...

I sail in April on this itinerary with my two children ages 10 and 13. Can you assess whether the kids clubs are opened, modified, and/or well attended? I'm sure it's not on your radar, so I appreciate if you have a moment to investigate for us. enjoy! I spotted two more elementary school age children in the MDR this evening. I can also confirm that they have some activities that are targeted toward children, although they appear to be somewhat limited. Build a Bear Workshop took place this afternoon, but is now a reservation-only activity. They are also hosting two magic shows, a video game tournament, craft time, mini golf, sandcastle competition (on Half Moon Cay), bean bag toss, King and Queen Teen Formal Night, a scavenger hunt, and a holiday show for Circle C and Club O2. Participation requires proof of vaccination. Camp Ocean (ages 2-11) is not operating on this cruise, but re-opens on all ships for vaccinated children ages 2-11 beginning December 10. brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #121 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Lentil, Pumpkin and Chorizo Soup This was a delicious discovery. It has a nice "Fall" flavor, with just a hint of spice. I could have used this on embarkation day in Baltimore!

One appears to be holiday / family themed (think Garfield and both Jingle All The Way movies), while the other is geared toward an older audience with a mix of action, comedy, and drama. Nothing seems to be recent. There are about 8 or 9 movies rotating on each channel. They are also showing a "Blockbuster Movie" in the Firebird Lounge during our stop in Nassau. This week's "Blockbuster" is The Man Who Invented Christmas. Not a blockbuster I've ever heard of, but it is available for those who are interested. 4 hours ago, brilliantseas said: They have two channels of movies on the stateroom TVs. brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #124 Share Posted December 8, 2021 The pork slider was delicious. Also highly recommended! The fries were warm, not hot, and served unsalted and without ketchup. I could have skipped them and had a second slider instead!
brilliantseas Posted December 8, 2021 Author #125 Share Posted December 8, 2021 Grilled tilapia with sweet potato succotash and broccoli. I should have gone with my gut and skipped this one. The fish was dry and flavorless. The succotash was marginally better. Let's hope dessert is better. If not, I could always take another slider!
