Tnguye3 Posted February 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Is it customary to tip when you visit the Cova Cafe or Aqua Spa Cafe? Are there any other areas of the ship where it is customary to tip? In other words, whom is it customary to tip aside from those on the general list (eg room steward, wait staff, spa service providers, etc) and those who provide extraordinary service? Thanks for the input!

I believe they also add a gratuity in the aqua spa. Seems like they've added in 10% on massages in the past. I usually check and tip a little more than that if the massage was good and they laid off the selling of lotions/ointments for home a bit.
smdubowsky Posted February 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Service is added to Spa services. You may add more if you wish. There is no need to tip for the standard food fare at the AquaSpa. There are additional items that can be ordered for additional charge. Service charges are also automatic. Rare DrKoob Posted February 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2006 Our experience (just off Infinity for the third time in 14 months) is that other than the usual tips you should tip two other times. Tip the person who brings you room service. It does not seem that they get any part of any of the other tips you leave and since there is no charge (unless you order something unusual) they would not receive one. Maybe a buck or two for each delivery. And we tip for extraordinary service above or beyond. For instance, even though Elesio (who dazzles us with his brilliant service in the Martini Bar each night) gets 15% on every drink we order, we left him a substantial tip at the end of the cruise. His service deserved it and more.
