WI-Cruiser Posted December 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2021 For recent/current cruisers. What are you seeing/experiencing regarding the latest masking requirements, which states masks must be worn while indoors in public areas of the ship, unless seated and “actively” eating or drinking? What do they mean by “ACTIVELY”? Can you sit in the pub with a drink in front of you without a mask taking occasional sips? Or do you have to wear the mask, pull it down to take a drink, and pull it back up? Same when eating a meal. Do you have to pull it down, stuff food in your mouth, put mask back in place? Maitaivegas Posted December 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2021 I am going to be double masking so taking a drink and constantly pulling both masks up won’t work. It will only cause the paper mask to shred.
pa6860 Posted December 22, 2021 #3 Share Posted December 22, 2021 We’re on Osyssey right now. Most everybody is masking up as per policy. Some aren’t. Enforcement is hit or miss, but overall not an issue. While sitting in the bar and reading a book while sipping on a cocktail, not masking. Basically if you’re not moving about, and have drink near you, no one seems to care if you’re masked or not. The only indoor place I see much less masking is in the Royal Theater. overall, it been a non issue for our family, but of course, other’s experiences will vary. Retired LEO Posted December 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2021 There is absolutely no mask enforcement currently on the independence. Casino, hallways, elevators, and all other venues. The staff doesn't seem to care. The ship is nearly full with over 800 kids onboard.
