Star aft balcony

We are looking at a cruise  with the star. We are wondering if an aft balcony is bigger than a side balcony and is there a difference on the decks. Thanks in advance

We had a standard aft balcony cabin on deck 9 for a Panama Canal cruise, cabin 9238. I recall the balcony

 being pretty much the standard size (we have had large balconies before).  Our friends had a

suite below us and to the side on deck 8, Cabin 8170. I want to say that the depth was "standard-ish," maybe a little deeper than our standard (maybe not), but the balcony wrapped around the side too. The wrap around balcony was a nice bonus! Both balconies were great for viewing the locks/canal, no crowds in front of us. 

I don't know if the balconies are larger on the higher decks. I hope this is helpful.
