marjoriemcdonaldd11 Posted January 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2022 We're visiting Mazatlan in a few weeks and I read that Stone Island is an easy DIY excursion. I'm specifically interested in the horseback riding. 1. Is it possible to walk up without reservations and book a ride then? 2. What is a reasonable price for a 30 min / 1 hr ride for 1 person, so I don't get ripped off? 3. Do they generally include a guide? I would be terrified if they put me on a horse and said "off you go!"
n4w Posted January 2, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2022 I've been researching activities to do at Stone Island for while in prep for a March cruise. Horseback riding seems very informal and cash only, so I'm pretty sure there's not reservation system. It looks like you keep walking until you find them or ask one of the restaurants to hook you up (like most of the activities on there). The attached video said 300 pesos/30 min. Some of the info you seek is at 10 min of this video:

No reservations, but again was was a “resort” activity (it wasn’t a posh resort, let’s say that!). Don’t remember a price. But there was definitely a guide who led you around on the horse.
