DocGo Port Everglades COVID Testing - charged if cancel appt.?

We are scheduled for the 1/19 cruise on the Enchanted and have appointment for COVID test on Monday. However, there is prediction of ice/snow for Sunday night/Monday (here in Atlanta that can close down the city) and if so I not sure if we can get the test completed. We fly to Ft. Lauderdale early Tues so no time to get the test completed Tuesday.. I was thinking of scheduling the DocGo COVID test (completed at the port) as a "backup" if we can't get the test completed here in Atlanta.

The web site indicates that $100 will be charged to your onboard account. Question: if I get the test in Atlanta completed Monday and cancel the scheduled DocGo test at the port will I still be charged? I would cancel on Monday, 2 days prior to the DocGo scheduled appt.

Thanks!

We were concerned about testing last month when we had a one day layover between cruises. At first we were told that we would be tested on first ship-Then told you will be tested on the pier-Then You need to take shuttle to next pier (Which was not possible since they were at same pier). Finally told come back tomorrow and test prior to boarding. Did that and was shown "Yellow Line" where we were escorted inside for test, tested and on our way within 25 minutes. Easy, Peasy and no charge but what a runaround 🙂

We booked testing with DocGo as a backup for December Sky Princess cruise. We were able to receive and successfully use self test with Binax and canceled DocGo and was not charged. Self test was less expensive and was easy to use.

Some people have reported not being charged by  DocGo if they cancelled their at-the-pier covid test appointment.   Maybe DocGo has changed its policy but as of today, their website says "a nonrefundable charge of $100 will be posted to guests onboard stateroom."   And if you don't show up for your appointment, they charge you the "testing cost".

Per Princess, the "testing cost" is $100.

So maybe they're charging people the $100 nonrefundable charge to their onboard account PLUS (for no shows) the $100 testing cost  ??

Due to snow/ice forecast we're leaving VA on Sat, so had to cancel CVS testing on Mon.  We booked tests with DocGo and our credit card was charged at booking.  I sure hope Princess doesn't also charge our onboard account, as stated on the Princess website.

Can you please let everyone know what happened with your DocGo testing and what the charges were?

Also, I am especially interested in knowing whether anyone who has cancelled their DocGo appointment was charged.

  • 4 weeks later...

We made appointments through the link on the Princess website.  DocGo required payment when we made the appt.

Well... testing at the Port was fairly easy, if somewhat disorganized.  All went well and our tests were negative, thank goodness.  BUT when we checked our shipboard account the next morning, we found we were each charged for 2 tests@ $100 each!!!  Luckily, I had a copy of our receipt, and Guest Services removed the $400 from our account.  So buyer beware.  Make sure you have documentation, and you'll be fine.  Be sure to check your account for discrepancies.

Also, hold on to your luggage until you get your negative results.  Once they take your luggage onboard, if you test positive, it's practically impossible to get it back.
