ocean_wind Posted January 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2022 While it is unlikely my mid Feb cruise will end on in Grand Caymen on the second last cruising day I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a place tourist can get a PCR test. I am considering getting a late day test to use from my flight/re-entry to Canada. That way I can avoid the departure terminal testing and relax on the last sea day. bookbabe Posted January 23, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) On the very slim almost non-existent chance that your cruise ship will stop in Cayman, your better bet is one of the Switch Health tests. But you really have a better chance of winning big in the cruise ship casino than you do of having a February port call there. PCR testing there is somewhat limited, and it’s in high demand as residents need one before they can get out of quarantine. But, you could check some of the travel clinics set up for the tourist rapid testing, see if any of them could also do a PCR test instead of just the antigen. But a Switch Health test will likely be cheaper. https://www.exploregov.ky/lft-policy/incoming-travellers-exempt-from-quarantine#Providers There’s also the official government clinic, not sure how far ahead you can book appointments but they do offer traveller PCR tests intended for people who have been there on vacation and need a test to return home. https://www.hsa.ky/appointment/ Edited January 23, 2022 by bookbabe
ocean_wind Posted January 25, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted January 25, 2022 Thanks @bookbabe. I was just reading about the Switch Lamp test via Air Canada. That is a much better option.
