Using Fit to Fly UK to US lateral flow to board ship

Has anyone done this?   It does suggest on their website to do this to save money buying 2 tests.

 

We plan to covid lateral flow test on the Thursday, fly UK to US on Friday and board Jewel on Saturday, in March, all using the same test result.

Yes, that’ll be fine as long as the protocols don’t change.

 

Just remember that the test must be supervised, either by video call or in person. A bog-standard self test (NHS or otherwise) officially isn’t enough to meet either US or Royal requirements.

I have the same plans and will use the same test for both. Take the test the day before the flight and as long as the cruise departs the day after the flight then you meet the 1 day requirement for the flight and the 2 day requirement for the cruise.

Note that the time period requirements are days and not hours so the test can be taken more than 24 hours and still meet the 1 day requirement and over 48 hours and still meet the 2 day requirement.

So you can get your test at 9.00 in the morning on Thursday and board your flight at 14.00 on the Friday afternoon.

As stated by Gumshoe make sure it is a monitored test, either in person or by video.

Thanks guys.  Yes I knew that they need to be monitored.  I’ll just keep an eye out in case anything changes.
