Getting to Port of Tampa from Tampa Intl?

We are leaving out of Tampa for our first time, and have a question about getting to the port from Tampa Intl Airport.

 

We are actually leaving on Monday, but arriving several days earlier in Orlando. We've rented a car and will be dropping off at Tampa Airport prior to departure.

 

Does anyone know if the car rental companies offer a shuttle to the cruise port (Alamo specifically)? .....or.....does anyone know the approximate cab fare to/from the airport to the cruise port?

I don't know about Alamo, but check your rental price thru Hertz. You can drop off your Hertz vehicle at the Marriott that is close to the port and they will either shuttle you to the port, or pay up to a $10 cab ride to the port.

We stayed overnight in Tampa prior to our cruise so don't know transportation costs to dock. However we did take a shuttle from dock to airport when cruise was over and it was $9 per person which is an excellent price. Suggest you check online for shuttle services. Can't remember if Super Shuttle runs in Tampa. You'll love embarking there...the people in the terminal are so pleasant and helpful. Have a great cruise.

We used Dollar about a week and a half ago . And they had a shuttle from the airport to the dock . All we paid was a tip to the driver for loading and unloading are bags. They also had a shuttle when the ship return to take us back to the car rental area at the airport. I believe there were other car companys offering that also but not sure which ones.

I think the Alamo car rental is not actually in the airport but on Spruce St next to the airport. They will shuttle you to the port after dropping off car so there is no need for a taxi.
