Guide for Istanbul

We are sailing on Sky in October Istanbul to Athens.  We hope to spend a few days pre-cruise on our own in Istanbul and wondering if anyone has had good experiences with hiring a private guide who can take us around.

Check out ports of call on CC. Look for Turkey forum and then Istanbul. You will get many recommendations for guides. 

 I  used two different guidss for wonderful  guided tours of the the places I wanted to see in old part of town.

 We stayed at Sari Konak hotel  for four night after our 12 day  cruise from Istanbul. a number of years ago.  great area, It is in walking distance  of Blue Mosque .

Not sure I can answer this yet.  We have a three day pre Oceania cruise in May and have booked a guide thru  tours by locals.  We are using a gentleman name Hanifi and he cones highly recommended.  He’s been great about responding to questions and request.
