No, this is a post cruise question. We figure to get off the ship around 10am and we don't fly out till 5:45 pm. So we were hoping to find a room so we could sleep and have some down time away from the airport. Times goes by so slowly at the airport. We don't want to sit around for 7 hours to then board a plane for another 8 hours.

We did a back to back cruise on the Triumph two years ago and had to leave the ship. Check in at the VIP lounge, we were escorted to the head of the line and where the 3rd and 4th couple to board the ship. We had the ship all to ourselves for about an hour and a half. Great pictures of the empty ship. Lots of fun doing the head of the line dance. Lots of angry looks.

One year we had a late flight. I didn't want to hang around the airport, so we rented a car. We went to Sawgrass Mills, where we could shop, grab a bite, see a movie, have a drink or play some Video games. We lasted about 15 minutes at the mall, before exhaustion set in. Went back to the car, set the timer on DH's watch and went to sleep for two hours. The car came in handy. I

We have many hours to kill in Ft. Lauderdale and was wondering if anyone knows of a hotel near the airport renting a room for half a day. Something like 10AM to 4 PM? Thank you

When are you traveling? If it's between now and June 1st you may trouble finding a day room. Hotels are operating at or near capacity and are reluctant to give up rooms for "day" use. ;)

Thanks for the link. We contacted most of the ones on the list. Not a lot of luck. A lot said no or that they didn't have day rooms. A couple said to call that day for availability.

I think we have settled on a plan. We'll take Carnivals transfer to FLL. Check our big bags. Store our carry on bags, then catch a taxi to the museum and catch the King Tut exhibit for the day.

Thank you to everyone who have been so helpful.
