M5M Posted March 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2022 We are considering Adventure Of The Seas in October, up the New England Coast and a little of Canada. I'm wondering how many children tend to be on a fall sailing when school is in process? Most of our sailings have been on Celebrity, not in summer, and typically there are few children. Is RCL different since their demographic tends to skew younger?
smokeykat Posted March 8, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2022 Not many school age kids but you may have families with babies on board.

With so many kids being home schooled and doing remote, I think you are seeing way more children at times you might not expect.
Lane Hog Posted March 8, 2022 #5 Share Posted March 8, 2022 Correct... We were just on a cruise out of Galveston while schools are largely in session, and there were a couple dozen school age kids there, presumably home schooled as the TX cruises tend to swing heavily towards the local drive market vs. fly-in. Can I ask why you're concerned?
Rare cruisegal40 Posted March 8, 2022 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2022 Here in NE, most if not all kids are back in school. However, Columbus Day weekend may be different as it's a long weekend.
DukeASUGirl Posted March 8, 2022 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2022 (edited) Depends when in October you're talking about. Fall Break for my kids and most of the districts around us in my state is Sept 30-Oct 10 (although some districts continue Fall Break through Oct 16). So early October there may be a fair number of kids on board (since that overlaps with Columbus Day weekend), but second half of the month should be relatively empty.
