embarkment time, leaving in 2 days!

I've read over and over again on these boards that the best time to arrive is before 11 am or after 2pm if you want to walk right on the ship. But the Carnival brochure says Miami port doesn't begin embarkment until 1:30 and that we shouldn't arrive until 30 minutes before. It goes on to say that coming early could result in waiting the entire time. Can someone clear this up? We leave for Florida on SAturday!

You can still arrive 11am-noon. What Carnival is saying boarding won't definately occur until 1:30. Barring unforseen problems, it'll probably occur much earlier. The statement is to "cover their backs". Basically, if something unforseen happens which delays boarding, they can point to the brochure and say "it wasn't our fault"
