Need Some Tips On Tipping..

Hi again everyone, we are booked on explorer of the Seas for May and have an OS booked. I was wondering if anyone had a run down on tipping? Or maybe where I can find one. I know that on NCL and Carnival they would just post the tips to your card and if you wanted to tip extra you could.

 

However, I heard that RCL is different and they just leave envelopes in your room at the end of the cruise. I just want to make sure I leave enough cash for tipping.. The casino seems to always pull me in.. :D

Hi Theresa ! You can elect to have the tips added to your onboard account, and pay with credit card when your cruise is over.

What are gratuity guidelines for cruises?

So that you can thank those who have made your cruise vacation better than you could have imagined, we've developed these gratuity guidelines:

Suite attendant: $5.75 USD a day per guest

Stateroom attendant: $3.50 USD a day per guest

Dining Room Waiter: $3.50 USD a day per guest

Assistant Waiter: $2.00 USD a day per guest

Headwaiter: $.75 USD a day per guest

Note: These gratuities apply to guests of all ages.

Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill or wine check when you are served.

 

Envelopes for gratuities will be provided in your stateroom on the last night of the cruise. Gratuities may be paid in the following ways:

Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your booking agent.

Added to your onboard SeaPass account.

Paid in cash at the end of the cruise

Do the guidelines for tipping cover room service? First cruise, Mariner of the Seas, so not sure who would deliver room service. Thanks!

No, they don't cover room service. Most people tip the person who delivers room service separately.

Yes. Tip room service when your food is delivered. 2 or 3 dollars I think is proper for most orders.
