First day spa questions

So, I'm not much of a spa person, so this has never come up.  My daughter and I are considering appointments on embarkation day.  I see appointments starting at noon.  First question, how can we book these if we don't know when we will get on the ship?  What happens to our appointment if Royal pulls the "please come 2 hours later" thing, and we miss it due to that?  Do they just refund and say sorry, no spa appointment at the discount?
