Pre-cruise help in Long Beach

We are flying into LAX the evening before the cruise.  We would like to stay at a hotel in Long Beach.  I would love to find one that is walking distance to restaurants nearby and has a shuttle to the port in the morning. Any recommendations? Also, any suggestions for transportation from LAX to Long Beach? There are 8 of us.

8 people, all adults, or do you need any car seats? I'd use multiple Ubers. You can try Karmel or Go Lansky, but Ubers might be cheaper. If you need car seats, Zippy Shuttle.

In Long Beach, the Hotel Maya DoubleTree and Marriott Residence Inn are by the ship, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Regency are in Downtown and great for restaurants.

We are booked at Hyatt Centric- gets excellent reviews from cruisers and sounds like it’s walkable to a lot of restaurants, shopping, etc…..

The Hyatt Centric is great and in a great location. Don't be tempted by the chain restaurants in the harbor (Bubba Gump's, PF Chang's, Yardhouse, Chili's, etc. Head up Pine Street into for places like L'Opera, BO-beau, etc.
