Gem Lost luggage update ( 3/30/22)

I was reading Apple's description of the Air Tag and was concerned that only iPhones were listed as compatible -- I have an Android phone. But that's only for one feature; the essential feature works with Find My on any Apple device, and I have an iPad mini.

 

I do have a question, though. The Air Tag is reported as starting to beep if it is separated from you for too long (like a dog with separation anxiety?). How long is that, and how far? I'd prefer that it not start to beep in the baggage room, for example.

For your checked luggage: are you putting the AirTag inside, or do you have it secured outside your bag and, if so, with what "accessory."  Thanks for any info.

Sorry for the late reply. I have a key ring it fits in. I attach that inside the suitcase so it doesn't look like it's tagged.

Nobody at work has complained about my wallet or keys beeping in my locker. 

 

Yes you can connect them to your iPad mini. 

 

I haven't had mine do that as far as I'm aware.

Just got off the Pearl and thought of you when we received a flyer on day 5 asking if anybody had seen a particular bag that was missing. Day 5?!
