Zuiderdam in Santa Barbara

First tenders in headed to the Whale Watching tour leaving from the same Sea Landing area. Cruise ship ambassadors ready at the information table.  So nice to see the Holland America staffers do their set up and welcoming drills, even if not on the ship itself.  Wish we had a HAL flag to greet them from the sea jetty area - full of pelicans and even a sea lion or two.

 

Shuttle van was making pick-ups and drop offs to both the Funk Zone closer to the main waterfront tourist area, and the business downtown area Court House - Red Tile walking tour area. Tours to various other locations left with the first tenders too. 

 

Welcome to Santa Barbara - picture perfect day. You did slip in-between a few days of light rain and strong cold winds just yesterday. Hope you have a wonderful time. Zuiderdam looked beautiful and blue on the horizon, as the city is yet again engaged in a fractious battle about "cruise ships" coming back to this town.
