Tonyv1 Posted May 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2022 Booked for MSC Fantasia Mediterranean cruise in October 2022 , does anyone know for sure if Travel insurance is mandatory and what type ? Even if you are fully vaccinated? It is not really clear on the MSC website. Thank You
mnpurple Posted May 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2022 Unless they changed in the last few days, it is mandatory, regardless of vaccination status. We get on a cruise Monday. With everything we've gone through to get ready, I am very glad to have the reassurance of the insurance.

Rare MarkusToe Posted May 22, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2022 No, they ask for special insurance covering not only the med part. As example extra flight cost, hotel....
mackfam Posted May 23, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2022 On the Seaview in the Med now. Even though MSC specifies that you require medical, trip interruption and cancellation insurance, when looking at our insurance documents, they only seemed to focus on seeing the word “Covid” mentioned, which they circled. They really didn’t look through the rest of the policy (though we had bought the one recommended by them for Canadians).

mnpurple Posted May 26, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 26, 2022 We're also on Seaview now. They barely looked at our insurance. I don't think they circled anything.
BVILady Posted May 28, 2022 #8 Share Posted May 28, 2022 I have booked the only insurance which had been available to me in my age (73), somewhere it mentions Covid, so will have to do.
