WeeCountyMan Posted June 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2022 We are interested in a cruise from Rosyth in late August - just wondered what restrictions might be in place on the ship ? Don't fancy face coverings etc. What about going ashore - can we do our own thing ? Can anybody offer an idea based on recent experience.
Coravel Posted June 8, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2022 I'm sailing on the Bolette from Tuesday next week and our information from FOCL is that masks are only mandatory during check-in. Provided you pass the lateral flow covid test, once you board the ship you can make your own decisions regarding masks. We won't be wearing any on the ship! As for getting off the ship at ports you are free to do as you please. However, if you travel on a bus or visit certain shops such as pharmacies, masks are still mandatory. The pre-departure health questionnaire is no longer a requirement even though the blurb they send out claims that it is.
WeeCountyMan Posted June 9, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted June 9, 2022 Thanks. We noticed that masks were needed in pharmacy in Mallorca a few weeks ago - not sure if that was a local rule or a general requirement. Face coverings were compulsory on public transport. So, it's better to take them and not have to use them, than vice versa.
Coravel Posted June 11, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2022 I notice that cases in the UK increased by 53% in the past week and Princess Cruise Lines have brought back mandatory mask wearing. Other cruise lines just might follow suit. A positive test onboard results in 10 days cabin confinement which would wreck any holiday. Perhaps it's time for a bit more caution.
