Post-Cruise Miami Tour with Luggage Storage and FLL Airport Transfer?

For our post-cruise at POM, we are looking into activities to fill the time prior to our flight at FLL at 8:30p.m. that will also have space for our luggage. The cruise has an excursion for this scenario but we have all been on a similar excursion so we would prefer something different.

 

Any ideas on where we could go/do?  The hotel day passes are not really looking like a preferred option, but we are open to hearing from experiences from others. We are also not really into shopping if that helps with suggestions.

Rent a vehicle for the minimum twenty four hour time period. Store your luggage in the rental vehicle and drive over to either South Beach or Fort Lauderdale Beach. Walk around, have a few drinks and either a late lunch or early dinner. Return the rental vehicle, grab your luggage and check in at FLL for your flight home.

Great idea!  We have decided to ride SAS from POM to FLL and rent a car from there until our flight later that night.
