Does Conquest leave from New Orleans or Gulfport?

We are going down a few days early and would like to know where exactly does this ship leave from, New Orleans or Gulfport?

The Conquest goes out of New Orleans.

Last year in the spring, Carnival had to relocate the Conquest to Gulfport *briefly* due to the fact that the ship couldn't clear some of the overhead power lines during high water levels in the river.

The power lines were subsequently raised, end of problem.

According to Cruise News Daily the task of relocating the wires underground have now been completed and the overhead wires are soon to be removed. Therefore the Conquest should never again have to relocate to Gulf Port, barring anything unusual such an shipping accident that would close the Mississippi.

Although I felt sorry for all the inconvenience the temporary relocation caused, it surely did look nice, seeing the Conquest in Gulfport. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif[/img]

We're undergoing negotiations w/Carnival for being the next new homeport, altho it probably won't happen for another year or two.
