Will be flying into San Deigo for a wedding, needing to get to Long Beach for a cruise.  Won't have a car.  Uber too much I fear.  any ideas?  This will be for September 2022.  Thanks!

Lease a car, one way. Fly into LAX or LGB, Uber to port. San Diego to LGB is 113 miles. LAX to Long Beach port is about 18 miles. LGB to port is about a 15-20 minute drive.

The best way to me would be take the train from Santa Fe Station (SAN) to the Anaheim (ANA) or Fullerton (FUL) station and Uber to Long Beach. I would NOT, under any circumstance try that on the day of the cruise. I don't think Amtrak is reliable enough for same day.

Besides Amtrak, San Diego commuter rail (Coaster) connects with LA-OC commuter rail (Metrolink) in Oceanside and has a decent schedule Northbound in the morning. You would use the same stations SAN and ANA or FUL.
