Darkwood Beach or Turner

We are thinking of booking a mini excursion.The one we picked takes you to either Darkwood or Turner Beach. The tour person said that snorkeling is not good at Darkwood.I read on a tour book that snorkeling is great.Does anyone know for sure? Also, do they rent snorkeling gear at either of these beaches?
